The Impact of a Father's Second Marriage on Family Relations: The Pastoral Task of the Church

This study aims to examine the impact of second marriage on family relationships and explore the pastoral role of the church in responding to these dynamics. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study delves deeply into the emotional, social, and spiritual experiences that arise as a result of changes in family structure, particularly in relationships between spouses, children, and other family members. Data were obtained through literature studies, expert views, and analysis of relevant pastoral theories. The results show that second marriages often present new challenges in family relationships, such as emotional tension, role conflicts, and family identity adjustments. The church has an important role as a pastoral agent who is present to provide assistance, spiritual strengthening, and a space for dialogue that supports the restoration of family relationships. Contextual and empathetic ministry, the church can be a strategic partner in fostering family harmony and growth in the midst of the complexities of modern life.
