PROTOS JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

E-ISSN:  | DOI:

The word Protos comes from the Greek (πρῶτος) meaning "first," "primary," or "foremost." In the context of Christian theology and education, Protos can reflect the main principles of the Christian faith, namely the supremacy of God, the primacy of Christ, and the calling to be at the forefront of service, learning, and social transformation.

Protos can illustrate the journal's commitment to innovative theological studies that are relevant to the challenges of the times. Its meaning is also in line with the scope of the journal, which covers various aspects, namely (1) Theology and technology (2) Theology and ecology (3) Theology and social justice (4) biblical theology (5) systematic theology (6) Theology and mental health (7) Christian education in families, schools and communities, showing that each of these areas has a major role in the development of Christian faith and thought.

PROTOS JOURNAL OF THEOLOGY AND CHRISTIAN EDUCATION was first published in 2025 with a frequency of twice a year (January and July) by the Anderson Theological Seminary of Manado, North Minahasa, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. PROTOS is an open access journal with the characteristics and scope of theology and Christian education. Manuscripts submitted for publication in this journal include quantitative or qualitative field research findings, conceptual and critical studies, biblical interpretation or exposition studies, case studies, and other forms of original thinking within the broad scope of theological research supported by adequate and accurate academic reference sources. The theological views of the author do not represent the theological views of the Anderson Theological Seminary of Manado.
